Directions:

1.   Having a clear sense of meaning and purpose in life:

A sense of meaning and purpose is a key ingredient for an incredible life. Your life purpose doesn’t have to be on a grand scale. “Getting it” that you are living your life your way - - greatly - - is plenty enough for a life purpose.

No sense of
meaning and purpose.

meaning and purpose.

2.   Developing a satisfying and stabilizing balance between personal and professional life.

Putting needs of our business before our personal lives puts our emotional and physical health in jeopardy, as well as our relationships with those we love.  When we neglect our health, our relationships, our families, and our work suffers.  Finding a balance between personal life and professional life is the key.

between personal and
professional life.

3.   Building the necessary skills for successful and fulfilling work.

There are many skill sets necessary for every career. In addition to the technical skills of your work, there are other skills that are often equally important including communication skills and relationship skills.

I do not have
these skills in place.

I am well-trained and
have these skills in place.

4.   Establishing well-defined values, standards, and boundaries

Values: Those things which give you a feeling of fulfillment in life. Those behaviors and activities to which you are naturally drawn.

Standards: What I expect from myself; what I hold myself to. Examples of Standards are being honest, paying bills on time, being unconditionally constructive.
Boundaries: Guidelines around words and behaviors of other people that  are not acceptable to you.
Example: No one may hit me; no one may raise his/her voice to me.

5.   Creating a strong sense of family and community

Family, whether biological or chosen, is an important part of knowing we belong, that  we are loved, and that we have a support system to help us express our values and meet our needs. Community is other people with whom you can share your love, life, dreams and values. High quality relationships support, challenge and encourage us to be our best.

7.   Cultivating healthy relationships

The quality of our relationships is important to health, well-being and even job performance. Healthy relationships provide us with energy rather than creating an energy drain in our lives. Healthy relationships are fuel for our “energy tank."

The relationships in my
life are not healthy.

I have only healthy
relationships in my life.

8.   Developing freedom from things that drain energy.

Every human has “X” amount of energy to put into each day. When our lives are filled with things that drain our energy, it is like someone put a big hole in our "energy tank." Some things that drain energy are cluttered physical environment, making commitments we regret, caffeine, alcohol, unpaid bills, pursuing goals that no longer make sense, lack of financial reserves and unhealthy relationships.

I have an overwhelming amount
of energy drains in my life.

I have eliminated the
energy drains in my live.

9.  Making time for fun and recreation on a regular basis.

As we pursue our goals, many of us take life so seriously that we forget to have fun.  Fun and recreation are an essential part of a high quality life. Consciously building things into your life that are fun moves you forward on your path to an incredible life.

I do not have fun and recreation
in my life on a regular basis.

I have lots of fun and recreation
in my life on a regular basis.

10. Nurturing love, joy and a passion for living

An incredible life is, by definition, one that includes feelings of love, joy and a passion for living, as well as a deep feeling of inner peace. Anything less usually results in lack of fulfillment, and dissatisfaction with life.

I have no feelings of love, joy
and/or passion for living.

I have plenty of love, joy
and/or passion for living.
